Are you hesitant to travel? Do you think traveling is not good? In this post, we will explore the amazing benefits of traveling.
Traveling is good for your health.
I rarely take a taxi to places when traveling because I walk everywhere, from morning to night. You may think that I am a superwoman, but I am not. My feet do hurt, of course. Therefore, I usually stop at a local store or coffee shop once or twice a day. I sit at least 8 hours a day. Walking helps to move my body, which improves my health. It also boosts my mental health because sometimes I just want to stop. However, I must keep walking, so I can go to where I want to be. Therefore, traveling is good for both mental and physical health.
Travel makes you smarter.
I am sure that you can learn at least one new thing when you travel. You may not even notice it. If you travel to Vietnam, you will see many people drive motorbikes instead of cars. See you just learned one new thing about Vietnam. If you travel to China, “你好(ni hao)” is how they say “hello” in Chinese. Another new thing you just learned about China. You have just learned two new things less than a minute. Imagine when you travel to a new country, you can learn so many new things a day.
Travel allows you to try new food.
It will be a big miss if I do not tell you about food, which is one of the most amazing benefits of traveling. Nothing can beat home-made food. However, not everything can be made at home. Even if you can, it may not taste like local food. Here is an example. Pho in the USA never tastes like Pho in Vietnam. No matter how good the ingredients are, American Pho in the USA will never taste as delicious as real Vietnamese Pho. Therefore, tasting local food from other countries not only pleases your belly but also helps you understand more about the cultures and local people.
Travel builds confidence.
I can make new friends and talk to people from different countries while traveling. I am a shy person, so talking to strangers is not easy. However, if I do not know ways to a place that I want to go to, I must ask local people for the directions. First time was awkward. The second time was a bit less awkward. The third time was much less awkward. And now, I do not feel awkward anymore. I can also start a small talk with them and ask for their advice where I should go and eat.
For me, traveling does not mean you have to go to a new country. You can simply go to a new town or a new restaurant. You can talk to local people how life there or ask waiters/waitresses what their best dishes are. Doing a simple new thing can open your mind. What are you waiting for? Act and decide to go to a new place now. Do it and let me know how you feel after it.
